Sale will span the weekend of Aug. 10 to Aug. 12 in Iowa City
The Bill & Donna Launspach Living Estate Antique Tag Sale will be held in Iowa City at 701 Miller Avenue on Friday August 10th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday August 11th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Sunday August 12th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
After 40 years of living in the large brick Victorian home at 701 Miller Avenue the Launspachs decided to put the home up for sale and liquidate the many items that they could not take with them to their new home.
The home is loaded with great Victorian and earlier era antique furniture, primitives, items from the Amana area, nice old primitives of all types, old stoneware, antique quilts and textiles, great 16 pane walnut corner cupboard, lamps of all kinds, old pinball machine, and so much more.
Uncovered during the tag sale discovery process were many old gas light fixtures, lots of old architectural pieces from old houses, old immigrant trunks, Amana rugs, pool table, pair of great arched top entryway doors, country painted dry sink, lots of parts and pieces (project antique furniture for the repair/refinish person antique dealer.
Bill & Donna Launspach own and managed older rental properties in the Iowa City area and there are two double garages full of old tools, primitives, construction supplies of all types, power and hand tools, and just about everything that a long time property owner would manage to have.
Donna Launspach was a long time Iowa City collector of antiques and owned an antique shop in Iowa City in the 1980’s.
This is a sale well worth attending from about any distance. Progressive variable discounting will be used starting on Saturday at 10:30 and we encourage all who have an interest in antiques or older things to attend.
