December is finally here! While we have been talking about the holidays for quite some time, it's now setting in that there are only a few short weeks left until Christmas morning. With that comes the rush to get the perfect gifts for family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, party hostesses and whoever else you run into during this festive season. Now to decide what to get them. Every year it gets harder and harder to play Santa for those I care about. Luckily I have a few go-to items that are easy to pick out, won't break the bank and are universally loved.

One item I find myself gifting quite often is the versatile coffee table book. No matter who I am buying for or what the occasion, there is always a beautiful book on a topic the recipient will love. Visually pleasing and perfectly practical, the right book is the perfect accessory for a living room and a great conversation starter. I feel like coffee table books are having a revival right now. The photography and writing are so well done I find myself displaying some of mine open to a favorite page to entice visitors to take a look. They pair perfectly with other table or desk accessories like trays, paperweights and small ginger jars.

Throw blankets are another gift that keeps on giving. Can you ever have too many cozy blankets? We use throws for everything from decor accents to tabletop covers and I am always finding new ones I just have to have. This is a great item to pair with other comfort goodies such as tea mugs, slippers and candles to encourage those in your life to take time to relax and renew, especially with the New Year approaching.

Candles are a great gift simply on their own or paired with a no-fuss candle holder, cute matches and candle extinguisher. There are so many scents to pick from, and who doesn't enjoy an amazing smelling home? Candles also complement a variety of other potential presents. I love pairing cabernet and champagne scents with bar glasses and accessories to create a scrumptious bar cart bundle.

When it comes to dog lovers, I always try to remember Fido as well. Most of my dog loving friends buy more presents for their pup than they do for themselves. Designer dog bowls, like the blue and white chinoiserie ones we have, are my go-to. They are more than just a spot for your pups to eat and drink - they really add to a home's decor. I like to add a treat container as well because 'tis the season of Christmas cookies; why shouldn't the cuddliest member of the family get to join in?
